God’s Calling to Papua New Guinea

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Michael & Diane felt God’s call in our lives soon after a missionary friend Rev. James Johnson contacted us about the possibility of coming to the mission field. Of course like many before us we struggeled with the calling at first. Our Pastor, Rev. Weldon Shuman preached a morning service to the Church on Romans 12:1 and there it was! God placed a scripture in front of us that Pastor Shuman pointed us too with his serman.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform any linger to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

This was a clear answer for us and to many of our friends that were asking “Why would you go” After reading this how could we not go especially when we know about God’s great commission to go and preach to the world. We discovered in time that everything is in God’s perfect timing. As we prayed and asked prayer warrior’s at Chapel of the Cross Church of the Nazarene to pray with us. Soon we began to understand God’s calling with the doors that God was opening to come to Papua New Guinea. We kepted praying and God kept opening doors!

We accepted God’s call and prepared with help from family and friends at home and left for PNG on December 11, 2007
